Alex began developing mobile apps shortly after graduating, starting with the iPhone 3G. Over the past decade, he has built and shipped numerous iOS products before transitioning into technical and people leadership roles.

He now leads mobile development at Octopus Energy, where his team builds both customer-facing and internal tools spanning low-carbon technology, marketing, and energy management.

Recognising the challenges of shipping mobile apps at scale - especially in a fast-evolving global energy market - Alex and his team partnered with Storyblok to create tooling that empowers Octopus Energy's international businesses. This collaboration enables regional teams to tailor a single global product to local needs, increasing flexibility without compromising quality.
